The drum (redfish) bite continues to be strong with good numbers of fish along the ICW walls and bays behind the barrier islands. We have been landing middle to over slot fish in live mullets and shrimp on carolina rigs. The have also been falling for topwaters and scented soft plastics. We have also been finding a few nice keeper flounder around all the inshore structure the flounder bit seems to have cooled a bit. We are still landing good fish on mullets on carolina rigs and 1/2oz bucktail jigs. The good news is the speckled trout have started to bit again. We have picked up some nice 2-3 lb fish on live mullets and shrimp.
The nearshore bite continues to be slow with a few big spanish left to keep things interesting. The king mackerel bite is just about non existent.
