The Spanish and king bite has turned back on. We are landing spanish in the 2-6lb range with the occasional 5-15lb king. This fishing is super exciting with visual strikes right in the prop wash. The best bait has been 3-4" menhaden.
The flounder bite continues to be great with good numbers of keeper fish on the structure and creeks along the ICW. We have also been landing keepers in the deeper channels near the inlets. Most fish have been falling for live pogies, mullet, and mud minnows on carolina rigs. Gulp jerkshads and shrimp on bucktails have also done the trick.
We have also still been finding some pretty speckled trout in the marsh creeks. These fish have been falling for live shrimps under slip corks. Specks have also been taking scented soft plastics on light jigheads. The Redfishing has been pretty good when we have the tide to fish in the marshes. We are finding 25-30" fish in all the bays behind the barrier islands. Most fish have been exploding on Top water baits. But live shrimp, mud minnows, mullets will also do the job.
