The trout are on fire. Lots and Lots of little trout but we are landing some pretty nice ones too. We have been landing most fish on live shrimp but soft plastics and mirrolures will get the job done as well. Along with the trout the Redfish bite is pretty strong we are finding fish in the backwaters and in the surf zone. We have found some nice flounders to go along with the mix. November 8th Fishing Report

The trout bite continues to be hot. We have had alot of smaller fish move in but there are still some nice 2-5lb fish around. We have been landing most fish on live shrimp, mullets, and mud minnows but we have also had some success with mirolures and zman soft plastics. We are finding the fish all over up the rivers and creeks and in the marshes. The drum are still schooled up on the beach fronts. With the right conditions it is non stop action on just about any thing you throw at them. The flounder bite is also pretty good with good numbers of keeper size fish behind the barrier islands. The fishing is hot and will only get hotter. I have open dates so give me a call at (910)330-6999 or email: hallemincharters@yahoo.com

November 4 Fishing Report

The Speckled trout bite has been awesome. We have been landing huge numbers of 2-4lb fish on storm shrimps, z-man baits, gulp and mirrolures. Also live shrimp and finger mullets have been getting the job done as well. We have been finding the specks in all the creeks and cuts in the marshes closer to the inlets. There have been some nice reds inside but due to 21" of rain in the beginning of October most of the Redfish were pushed out the inlets and are staged up on the inlet shoals. There are huge schools of drum on the beach front. There will bite just about anything you throw at them. The flounder bite continues to be strong. We are still landing good numbers of fish in te 2-5 lb range. Carolina rigged mud minnows have been the trick for these pre winter flounder. The fishing is hot so give us a call at: (910)-330-6999 or email: hallemincharters@yahoo.com

October 20 Fishing Report

Sorry for the lack of reports latley we have been busy catching fish. The bad news is we had 21" of rain in two days, the good news is the trout are biting. We have been landing good numbers of 2-4lb fish on all kinds of artifical baits. It has been one of the better Octobers I have seen even with the rain. There are still a few reds inside the marshes but the majority have pushed out the inlets and are sitting in the surf zone. The are biting just about anything you put infront of them. The flounder bite has been a bit slow with a few keeper fish mixed in with the specks. The fall fishing is here and it is good so book your fall Crystal Coast Fishing Charters with us Call Capt. Robert Hall at 910-330-6999 or email: hallemincharters@yahoo.com

Much of the same continues. The Red drum bite continues to be great. Lots of middle to overslot fish. We are landing them on everything. Live baits, spinnerbaits, topwaters, etc. The speckled trout bite has turned on a bit with alot of 1-2lb fish being caught mainly on live baits. The spanish mackerel bite also continues to be pretty good with some false albacore starting to show up.

Mom and Dads anniversiary

I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with my parents this past week. It was thier 33rd anniversiary and we spent the afternoon doing a little site seeing and enjoying a nice late lunch in downtown Swansboro. Of course we had to check a few drum holes and we were able to wrap the afternoon up with some nice reds. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful parents.

Sept. 13 Fishing Report

The Red Drum (redfish) bite remains the best right now. We are still finding all sizes of fish in the marshes behind the barrier islands. We are landing the fish on topwaters, spinnerbaits, and live baits. We have also been finding a few nice flounders inside around the areas that are holding reds. Live baits on carolina rigs and scented soft plastics will usually get the job done on the flatfish. The good news is speckled trout have started to heat up as well. We have caught a few right here in the Swansboro area and I have heard some good reports from the Neuse and New rivers. Most fish have been caught on live shrimp and mullets but your favorite mirrolure or grub should get the job done also.

The spanish bite outside has still been pretty steady with lots of action from 2-6lb fish. There are some kings in the mix but the king bite reamins a bit slow. It should fire up as we work our way into the month of October.

Sept 2 Fishing Report

The Red Drum bite continues to be stellar. We are landing good numbers of middle to overslot fish on live baits and scented softplastics. The flounder bite seems to be a bit slow with a few keeper fish being found in the marshes and internal structure. We are still finding a few nice 2-3lb trout in the creek mouths behind the barrier islands. The trout bite should continue to improve as we push into fall.

Nearshore the big Spanish mackerel bite continues to be pretty solid with lots of 2-4lb fish with a few 5-7lb fish mixed in. The king mackerel bite is still pretty slow but I expect it to pick back up as we get deeper in the month of September.
The fishing is good so book your charter call Capt. Robert Hall at (910)330-6999 or email: hallemincharters@yahoo.com

August 23 Fishing Report

The drum (redfish) bite continues to be strong with good numbers of fish along the ICW walls and bays behind the barrier islands. We have been landing middle to over slot fish in live mullets and shrimp on carolina rigs. The have also been falling for topwaters and scented soft plastics. We have also been finding a few nice keeper flounder around all the inshore structure the flounder bit seems to have cooled a bit. We are still landing good fish on mullets on carolina rigs and 1/2oz bucktail jigs. The good news is the speckled trout have started to bit again. We have picked up some nice 2-3 lb fish on live mullets and shrimp.

The nearshore bite continues to be slow with a few big spanish left to keep things interesting. The king mackerel bite is just about non existent.

August 17 Fishing Report.

Inshore fishing remains good. Good numbers of reds are being found in all the Crystal Coast backwaters with most fish falling for live finger mullets and shrimp. We are also landing a few fish on topwaters and scented soft plastics. Along with the reds the flounder bite continues to produce good numbers of keeper fish along all the internal structure. Flounder have been falling for live mullets on carolina rigs. We have also seen a little push of speckled trout in our area. Most in the 1-2lb range with the occasional 3-4lb fish mixed in. The specks have also been falling for live mullets but we have also been landing a few on MR 17 or Catch 2000 by MirroLure.
The King and spanish mackerel bite has cooled quite a bit with some fish still being found on the nearshore structure. The amber jacks have been chewing pretty good along with a few Cobia.
